Introduction to The Law Office of Alan Pritchard
Posted by Alan Pritchard on October 9, 2012
Welcome to the initial blog for The Law Office of Alan Pritchard, PLLC. The purpose of this intial blog is to introduce myself and my areas of practice. My office is located in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to being licensed to practice law in Tennessee, I am also currently licensed to practice law in Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana. I am an AV rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell.
In 1984, I received my undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. I attended law school at the University of Tennessee College of Law and graduated with honors in 1990. Following graduation, I started practicing law in the Memphis office of the law firm now known as Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, and Berkowitz. I became an equity shareholder prior to leaving the firm in June 2007 to open my own law firm.
While at Baker Donelson, I practiced primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, business law litigation, and commercial debt collection. I represented individuals, sole proprietorships, limited partnerships, and corporations. I also practiced in the areas of insurance defense, tort litigaion, and class action defense.
When I departed Baker Donelson, the primary area of my practice was medical debt collection. I practiced in most of the States in which I had a law license. My office filed over 10,000 lawsuits over four and one-half years and collected over $6.5 million.
At the beginning of 2012, the focus of my practice shifted away from medical debt collection and consumer debt collection back to the areas of commercial litigation, business law litigation, and commercial debt collection in Memphis Tennessee and West Tennessee. I continue to represent individuals, small and medium sized businesses, and corporations. I have also expanded my areas of practice to include domestic relations and divorce. Cases are handled either on an hourly rate or contingency fee basis.
In future blogs, I will discuss issues relevant to commercial litigation, business law litigation, and commercial debt collection particularly in Tennessee.
If you have a legal issue in the area of commercial litgation, business law litigation, commercial debt collection, enrollment and enforcement of foreign judgments, or domestic relationships or divorce, you can contact me at 901-310-5158 or by email at contact@alanpritchardlaw.com for an initial consultation.
